Education
Belmont Synagogue is part of a regional cheder which meets every Sunday morning on the premises of Stanmore Synagogue. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 are taught with their peers in a warm, stimulating and friendly environment.
There is also a Bnei Mitzvah Programme called S.M.I.L.E (Sunday Morning Interactive Learning Experience) which is an alternative to the United Synagogue Bar Mitzvah test. Here, the boys and girls in school years 7 and 8 are prepared for the period up to and beyond their Bar or Bat Mitzvah by young, inspiring teachers.
Teenagers who would like to further their Jewish education, can also enrol for the two-year Jewish studies GCSE course in Philosophy and Ethics which is taught by a qualified teacher. It is open to all children in school Year 9.
